Individual therapy

My goal in individual therapy is to create a space that is safe enough for you to push yourself to do what you need to do to effect change. I consider safety and challenge the cornerstones of therapy. Without safety; we cannot risk. But without risk, we cannot change.

You and I together will discuss what brought you in and what your goals are. I was trained as a psychodynamic talk therapist, meaning that I focus on the interplay of emotions, thoughts, life experiences, and belief systems in order to effect change. I incorporate both cognitive behavioral techniques and brainspotting in order to facilitate that change.

I work with following conditions in individual therapy:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Medical conditions
  • Fertility
  • Adoption
  • Trauma
  • Grief
  • Life changes (i.e., birth of a baby, career changes, divorce)
